Title: A Secret Hidden in the Book of John Chapter 14 for Over Two Thousand Years: The Purpose of the Holy Spirit Baptism

The Holy Spirit Baptism happened at the full day of Pentecost as described by the author Luke in the Book of Acts chapter two. However, most if not all Christians and Bible Scholars think that the purposes of the Baptism are as the followings:

1) It is to pour the Spirit of God unto the disciples?

2) It is to enable the disciples the gift of speaking in unknown tongues?

3) Or something related to the regeneration of Christians’ faith?

Realistically, when you study the event as recorded in the Book of Acts chapter two, you realize that there were three major phenomena exhibited during the Holy Spirit Baptism. How could we logically say that when a person only experienced one out of the three phenomena, which were the speaking-in-unknown-tongue, less the sound like the blowing of violent wind and the tongues of fire, then the person have received the similar Baptism as experienced by the Apostles more than two thousand years ago?

I feel that such understanding is way too farfetched.

The Missing Context Needed To Fully Understand The Original Purpose Of The Baptism

I believe the farfetched miss-understanding is stamping from out of context interpretation.

If you refer to the Book of Acts chapter one verses 4 and 5, the event of "you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit" was something the disciples had heard it before, "but to wait for the Promise of the Father, which you have heard from me, you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now".

(Acts 1:4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." NKJV)

The preceding information “which you have heard from me” is very crucial for us to fully understand the reason why the Promised-Gift was visibly and audibly delivered which may help reveal the original purpose of having such Baptism. And the missing context has definitely contributed to the current problem of out-of-context-interpretation of the event.

Fortunately, the author had put in effort searching for possibly the preceding related context as spoken to the disciples by Lord Jesus. Hopefully, the presentation makes sense to you revealing the original purpose of the event which has been hidden from us for over two thousand years.

The Perfect Match

If you are able to study the detail unique characteristic of the Baptism and comparing them with the unique characteristic of the prediction which had been told by Lord Jesus to his disciples, you will be puzzled by such perfect matching!

The perfect matched tell me that it is not a coincidence. It tells me that for over two thousand years, no Christians have ever discovered such hidden secret, the original purpose of the Holy Spirit Baptism.

The purpose of the Baptism was to make the disciples believed!
This book will show you how the event of the Holy Spirit Baptism which had happened at the full day of the Pentecost in the city of Jerusalem has perfectly matched the prediction given by Lord Jesus in John chapter 14.

In the book of John chapter 14:28-30, Lord Jesus said:

“You have heard Me say to you, 'I am going away and coming back to you.' If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, 'I am going to the Father,' for My Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe.”NKJV

After reading John chapter 14, are you able to answer the following questions:

1. What did Lord Jesus say about “I am going away”?

2. What did Lord Jesus say about “I am coming back to you”?

3. Do you know that Lord Jesus had hinted His disciples that He would come back to them in the spiritual-form as the HELPER or COUNSELOR?

4. Do you know that Lord Jesus had promised to manifest himself to His disciples who had unbelief and only could believe if they could see it?

5. Do you know that the prediction of his coming back had been fulfilled and had been manifested and seen by his disciples?

6. Can you logically explain the reason why the disciples, who had unbelief and were of little faith and who had tried to run away when Christ was being crucified, had been transformed by the Holy Spirit Baptism into fully believed Lord Jesus? Almost all of the twelve apostles were martyred preaching the Gospel and bearing witnesses for Christ. What had really changed them?

为了明白“圣灵的浸事件及当时所显现的现象的发生会有什么特别的目的”，作者从2006年开始专心的深入研究，以单纯“阅读与理解的方法”，逐步逐字的研究使徒行传2章的描述，看到了原文（中英文翻译本）原本描述的现象和特徵。

无可否认的，这现象的特徵，就是“使有不信和小信的使徒们，眼睛可以看见耳朵可以听到的”，成为“不信和小信的使徒们”的“明证”。从圣灵的浸显现的现象，可以分类为两个主要的明证：（1）看到的火焰和听到的风声是一个明证，证明使徒们是浸在神的灵里面。（2）自己口说出听不懂的方言也是一个明证，证明神的灵在他们里头。

也可以了解到一般圣经学者和基督徒“因为不明白圣灵的浸和当时所显现的现象的发生会有什么目的”，单凭这段经节所看到的现象，圣经学者和基督徒们就好像看着一幅图画一样，各抒己见各执一词的在描绘这幅图画在他们心中所产生出来的意念，都说的头头是道的，说服了他们的听众。各个教派对圣灵的浸的理解差别很大，但好像有一个共同点，那就是他们都认为受圣灵的浸是基督徒属灵成长必须经过的一个过程，各教派都把五旬节圣灵的浸的两个主要明证简化到只需要“自己口说出听不懂的方言”就算了。

“不明白圣灵的浸和当时所显现的现象的发生会有什么目的”之下产生出来的神学理论，这现象非常类似“瞎子摸象”的现象。使人纳闷的是，难道神让圣灵的浸和当时所显现的现象发生是为了让信祂的信徒随自己的意思任意解释神的作为吗？答案是否定的，因为神在圣经留下的指示，都要信祂的人看了晓得，听了明白。如果不晓得不明白神的指示，信徒如何可以理直气壮的说：“我们认识我们所信的神呢”？

五六年持续不断的追求和祷告之下，作者终于得到一个突破。（使徒1：4-5）耶稣和他们聚集的时候，嘱咐他们说，不要离开耶路撒冷，要等候父所应许的，就是你们听我说过的。约翰是用水施洗（浸）。但不多几日，你们要受圣灵的（浸）。

原来主耶稣在使徒1：4-5节是说：“要等候【父的应许】，就是你们听我说过的。不多几日，你们要【受圣灵的浸】”。原来【父的应许】将要通过【圣灵的浸】来完成，而【父的应许】是主耶稣基督曾经跟使徒们说过的。所以要明白【圣灵的浸的发生有什么特别的目的】，需要查考【主耶稣基督之前对使徒们说过父的应许时到底说了什么】。这是一个非常重要的【前文】，各个教派生出不同的神学理论的主要原因，就是没有查考【前文】，在断章取义之下产生出来的一个毛病。
